The lab is currently running projects focused in understandning the mechanism of action behind the fast neuroplastic and behavioral responses induced by natural and endogenous cannabinoids. We are also studying how vulnerability to depressive behavior can modulate fear memory processing and the response to pharmacological treatment.
Methods:
Our research uses in vivo (transgenic mice, rat models based on selective breeding) and in vitro models (neuronal cell cultures) in connection with molecular approaches (western blot, ELISA, qPCR, co-IP, drug-receptor interactions) and ex vivo imaging (immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, sholl analysis).
The successful applicant is:
A creative thinker who approaches the neurobiology of mental disorders with curiosity and openness. He/she values ethical practice, collaborative spirit, and kindness, remaining mindful of the collective goals and contributing positively to the group dynamic.
