The program will include four modules:

1)      A methods-based session featuring talks from selected young DANDRITEs

2)      A basic science session focused on “explain your research area”, inspired by the “book a researcher” from the Danish Festival of Research from volunteers (~20 minutes; 15+5)

3)      An invited speaker

4)     Discussion groups/ workshops based on DANDRITE´s people suggestions

For the last one (discussion groups/ workshops), we would like to have your inputs for 1) topics ideas : it can be broad but must be relevant for everyone, then people will choose which ones they want to attend; 2) internal speakers: it can be one of your lab members or it can be yourself as a leader.

These groups must be structured and there must be always one person leading the discussion group ensuring that it is lively and dynamic. We would have two sessions, each lasting 1h (including a break in between), so people could choose 2 topics they want to sign for.

Suggested topics so far are:

  • Writing a grant application
  • Career mentorship
  • How to lead the lab
  • Popular science communication
  • How to form great ideas and translate them into actual study
  • Social media for scientists (important networking or waste of time?)
  • Scientific misconduct
  • How to write a book
  • Work safety
  • Environmentalism and waste in the lab
  • Intellectual rights, MTAs, Animal licences
  • Multicultural intelligence - challenges and power of diversity
  • (Gender) Equality in the work place

Now, you are welcome to propose more suggestions. We could aim for 5-10 topics.
