UCMR Day 2021
On behalf of the organizers, we are happy to invite you to participate at the UCMR Day on 14th January 2021. One keynote lecture will be given by Emmanuelle Charpentier, Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry in 2020 for discovering the CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing method together with Jennifer A. Doudna. You can read the invitation below.
UCMR, Umeå Centre for Microbial Research, is an interdisciplinary research centre established by a consortium of scientists representing medical & molecular microbiology, molecular & structural biology, chemistry & physics, and is devoted to top quality research and novel applications in the fields of microbial pathogenesis. MIMS emerged from the Umeå Centre for Microbial Research and the two centers foster a strong connection still today. MIMS-UCMR researchers combine a strong molecular infection biology programme with chemical biology to clarify molecular mechanisms of microbial infections and aim to develop novel sustainable strategies to combat the increasing problems with microbial resistance to current antibiotics.
