Research Scholarship for Signe Schwartz from Sun Lab

Medical student Signe Kristine Schwartz has been awarded a competitive scholarship from the Danish Cancer Society to pursue a full-time research year in the Sun Lab, where she will investigate how brain tumors communicate with neurons.

Congratulations to medical student Signe Kristine Schwartz, who has been awarded a highly competitive scholarship from the Danish Cancer Society to support a research year internship in the Sun Lab at DANDRITE, starting in February 2027.

So far, Signe has focused on developing techniques to visualize neuron–tumor synapses in brain biopsies from patients with glioma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. During her research year, she will investigate the molecular regulators of synapse formation and explore their potential as targets for disrupting tumor–neuron communication.

We congratulate Signe on this achievement and wish her a successful and exciting research year.
