New Bachelor Student at Sun Lab

Signe Kristine Schwartz will be joining Chao Sun Lab during the fall to conduct her Bachelor thesis. Her project is titled "Super-resolution Visualization of Human Neuronal and Neuron-tumor Synaptic Connectivity in Patient Biopsies". This project builds on ongoing research aimed at elucidating the synaptic interactions between human neurons and glioma cells in patient-derived brain biopsies. In collaboration with the Human Cortex Lab at AUH, This project will use expansion microscopy, immunofluorescence labeling, and complementary techniques to investigate the ultrastructure of these synaptic contacts in the human brain. The goal is to identify potential therapeutic targets that could disrupt neuron-tumor communication. Welcome, Signe!
