Young talents received awards

Prizes for the two best poster and two best oral presentations were given to four young talented researchers at the DCAcademy Summer Meeting 2022.

At the DCAcademy Summer Meeting 2022 young researchers were given the opportunity to give a talk on their research and to pitch their projects at a poster session. They all had the chance to win a DCAcademy award which was handed out in the final session at the DCAcademy Summer Meeting on the 4th of June 2022.

Two awards for the best poster presentation were given to:

  • Sophie Amalie Troest Kjeldsen from University of Copenhagen
  • Mohab Basem Abdallah from Aarhus University

"What a pleasure it was to present my research project at DCAcademy Summer Meeting 2022 and receive constructive feedback. I was absolutely delighted to win the award for best poster presentation," says Mohab Basem Abdallah, research year student, Aarhus University.

Two awards for the best oral presentations were given to:

  • Selma Hasific from University of Southern Denmark
  • Lasse Bach Steffensen from University of Southern Denmark.

“The DCAcademy summer meeting was a perfect opportunity to disseminate and discuss my recent findings on somatic mutations in atherosclerosis with fellow cardiovascular researchers. Receiving an award for best oral presentation was a great honor,” says Lasse Bach Steffensen, Postdoctoral fellow, University of Southern Denmark.

In addition to flowers, the recipients also received a travel grant from the Danish Cardiovascular Academy.
