Vertigo research boosted by appointment of new international affiliated professor

Professor Michael Strupp is a new affiliated professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine. He has more than 30 years’ experience in neurology and neurophysiology with special focus on balance. He will be affiliated with the University Clinic for Flavour, Balance and Sleep in Gødstrup.

The research capacity of the University Clinic for Flavour, Balance and Sleep at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) at Gødstrup Regional Hospital will receive a significant boost when Professor Michael Strupp joins the Department of Clinical Medicine.

Michael Strupp has more than 30 years’ experience in research and teaching within neurology and neurophysiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Germany. He has worked with renowned researchers from around the world, including researchers at institutions such as Oxford University and the Mayo Clinic. He looks forward to delving into vertigo research at the University Clinic for Flavour, Balance and Sleep, where he will be working with Professor Therese Ovesen.

Michael Strupp has received awards for his teaching and has made a significant contribution to his field of research with 454 publications (PubMed), including several as first or last author, five books and more than 50 book chapters. He has an H-index of 89. Michael Strupp has also been editor-in-chief of Frontiers in Neuro-Otology since 2010 and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Neurology since 2011.
