The Philipsborn group contributes with a chapter in a new textbook “Insect behavior”
“Insect behavior” was published on August 16 by Oxford University Press. Anne Philipsborn has contributed with the chapter “Neurobiology of insect behavior”.
Insects have small brains, but astonishing acuity in sensory processing. They can learn, master complex navigation and moreover restructure their nervous system during metamorphosis! The chapter gives an introduction to how the nervous system controls and shapes the many fascinating and sophisticated behaviors seen in insects and how insects can be used as a model for circuit neuroscience
