New Erasmus Student in Jensen Lab

Martina Motto will spent the next 7 months working with about the development of an alpha-synuclein proximity ligation assay for detection of early-stage pathology in mouse models of Parkinson’s disease.

Martina will test candidate antibodies for their ability to bind the target and for any off-target binding effects, based on dot blot and standard immunohistochemistry. Optimization steps include conjugation of candidate antibodies to proximity probes, basic test in mouse models with/without alpha-synuclein pathology, determination of antibody concentrations/incubation times, comparison with already existing proximity ligation assays (which detect human alpha-synuclein) using mouse models, rodent cell models, human cell models etc.

Martina studies at the University of Pavia in Italy.

Welcome, Martina!
