Sivagowry Rasalingam Mørk conducts research into the triage and transport of cardiac arrest patients, as well as the use of heart-lung machines in cases of cardiac arrest that are not affected by treatment. At the annual Acute Cardiovascular Care Congress in Marseille in March, she was presented with a Young Investigator Award by the European Society of Cardiology and an associated grant of EUR 1,500.

“Receiving a Young Investigator Award is a great stamp of recognition for the research we conduct in Denmark. The award is particularly special as the project I presented is based on close collaboration between all four heart centres and prehospital services in the five health service regions of Denmark,” says Dr Mørk.

The prize is awarded each year to the best scientific contribution from a researcher under 40 years of age. The assessment committee consists of international experts in the cardiovascular area, and the committee emphasises the quality and communication of the scientific input.
