Link to all submitted images to the Science & Art contest, and the selected best images
See the guidelines for the Science & Art contest below.
Thanks a lot to the artists submitting the images for the contest, and for all who voted to find the best 12 images to use in the calendar 2016!
One of the primary outcomes will be a calendar for 2016, where the 3 best images from each Nordic node will be included.
Therefore - please submit your images!
Have a look at your microscopic pictures of cells, tissues or whatever, stained or unstained, computer generated graphics or drawings or any other things that come to your mind, which would give a nice/amazing/fascinating/funny image for this calendar.
Once you found your image, send the image (filetypes: .pdf, .ai, .jpg or otherwise as preferred by you) together with a image title (headline or short description) to susanne.hultsch@fimm.fi
Please keep in mind that the image should not have been published before, or is not planned to be published in the future, so that we are not facing any copyright issues.
All submitted images will be on display on FIMM's website and on a slideshow during the entire annual meeting 8.-10. September in Aarhus, and you will be asked to vote during the annual meeting on day 1 and 2 for your favorite images.
The 3 best images from each node will be revealed during the dinner on day 2 of the annual meeting in Aarhus taking place 9. September.
FIMM have already done 2 exhibitions in this fields. If you are curios or want to get inspired have a look at: https://www.fimm.fi/en/event/biomedicine-goes-art
To sum up:
What is needed? Scientific artwork
From whom? Anyone who is affiliated with the institutes and interested in the contest (not only those of you attending the annual meeting)

We will make sure that no copyrights will be hurt. All the rights to the picture stays with the artists. To begin with, the picture will be used for the calendar and things that are connected to it, such as a webpage, and on the Nordic nodes’ own webpages. You will be asked for permission for any other reprinting, for example if we want to use it as postcard or as a print for an exhibition.
All questions are welcome to the main organizer Susanne Hultsch (Doctoral Student, Kallioniemi group, Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland FIMM)
