Travel information

The meeting programme has been planned in relation to the flight connections between Denmark and the Nordic countries and Heidelberg. The meeting starts at 14:00 on 8. September and ends at 13:30 on 10. September.

Travelling to DANDRITE


Flight

If you fly to Denmark, it is possible to arrive in several airports in order to get to DANDRITE:

Aarhus airport (AAR) is the airport closest to Aarhus, with a travel time of 45 min with the airport bus to Aarhus (link to AAR airport bus). The airport bus is timed for each arrival/departure. Aarhus airport has several daily departures between Copenhagen, and connections to major cities in Europe.

Most flights from Europe and abroad arrive at Billund airport or Copenhagen airport.
Billund airport (BLL) is located 95 km south-west of Aarhus, with a travel time of around 1h15min by airport bus or taxi to Aarhus C (link to BLL airport bus).
Copenhagen airport (named Kastrup airport (CPH)) is located just outside Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, and Aarhus is reachable by flight to AAR or by train directly from CPH airport to Aarhus main railway station.

Other smaller airports in Denmark can also be useful in some cases, such as Aalborg airport (AAL).

Train

Travelling to Aarhus by train is convenient, with the main railway station centrally located in Aarhus, and direct trains from Copenhagen arriving every hour.

Travel time from Copenhagen (and Copenhagen airport) to Aarhus by train is around 3h20min. Tickets can be bought via DSB's website or at the railway station.

The distance from the main railway station in Aarhus to DANDRITE is around 2.5 km and takes around 20 min by bus, 5 min by taxi, and the walk to DANDRITE will take around 35 min (see suggested route).

Busses

In order to get from the railway station to DANDRITE by bus, you should catch bus no.:

2A (towards Skejby Sygehus, get off at the stop called "Emil Aarestrups Vej")
13 (towards Frydenlund, get off at the stop called "Emil Aarestrups Vej")
16 (towards Hasle, get off at the stop called "Universitetet/Kemisk Institut")

The bus ride to DANDRITE from the railway station takes around 20 min. There are bus stops in the area outside the main railway station in Aarhus (see map to the left). Tickets are both from the ticket machine inside the bus right after entry with cash.

Taxi

Taxis are available in the waiting area outside the main railway station, and the drive to DANDRITE will take around 5 min. If you need to call for a taxi, Aarhus Taxa is reachable via no. +45 89 48 48 48.


Walk to DANDRITE

The walk from the main railway station in Aarhus to DANDRITE is 2.5 km and takes around 35 min. The suggested route takes you pass the City Hall, the old riding facility, Aarhus Art Museum (ARoS), the Botanical Garden, and the University Park.
