As a general rule, only DANDRITE researchers, including affiliated researchers and team leaders, can be granted permission to use the DANDRITE microscopes. The access is provided that the user has obtained the necessary training in how to handle and take care of the microscope. 

In order to get access to the booking calendar(s), we ask you to:

1. Ensure permission from your Group Leader before usage of the microscope(s). The group leaders will, at the end of a calendar year, receive the invoice for the usage of the confocal by her/his group members (Usage of the microscope with ApoTome is free of charge). Moreover, it is also the responsibility of the Group Leader to make sure that new users have been properly trained in how to use the microscope(s)
2. If you are eligible as a user (as defined above) write an email to microscope@dandrite.au.dk (your group leader in cc), and you will be granted access to the booking calendar (note: you only need to contact the microscope coordinators to get access to the booking calendar, not to confirm or inform about your booked slots at the microscope)

Administration and billing of bookings involve an inherent trust component to keep user fees at a minimum. Thus it is urged that users are responsible and makes sure to only book for the time that they actually use.

Please keep a good booking culture and report any malfunctions to the microscope coordinator!
 

Booking rules for the confocal microscope:

1)     Please pay attention to our cost scheme (below)

2)     Maximum length of a booking is 4 hours/weekday (during the period 8 AM – 5 PM)

3)     After 5 PM the microscope can be used without time limitations

4)     Once pre-booked, a fee must be paid (note cancellation fees in the cost scheme)

5)     If a booking has been canceled it will show in the calendar, as the booking will appear in a different color and it will say "canceled"

6)     Once the booked time has begun, the booking time can be extended if available

7)     In case the microscope has not been booked and is freely available, usage hours must be post registered in the booking calendar 

8)     Repetitive misuse and breaking of booking rules will lead to ban from future usage of the microscope

The current fee* for using the confocal microscope is equal for all users:

*Cancellation fee: 

Cancellation 24 hrs (or more) before the booked time = 50% of normal user fee
Cancellation within 24 hrs ahead of the booked time = 75% of normal user fee.  

At the end of each year, the Group Leaders of microscope users will receive an invoice for the usage of the confocal by her/his group members. Thus it is urged that users are responsible and make sure to only book for time that they actually use, and delete bookings if they will not use the booked slot after all.
