During his stay he will be working with the connection between dopamine and memory. The non-canonical release of dopamine (DA) from the locus coeruleus (LC) axons in the hippocampus (HPC) is important for memory stabilization process. However, little is known about its releasing properties (i.e., timing, spatial diffusion and concentration) with high spatial and temporal resolution.  To elucidate that, I will try to directly detect DA release from LC axons at ex vivo HPC slice and in vivo behaving rat with high spatiotemporal resolution by using fluorescence biosensor.
