  • 25th February 2020: Innovation Fund Denmark: Grand solutions thematic calls, this opportunity will be available soon. The next calls are expected to open in December 2019 and have a deadline on 25 February 2020. The following information is subject to change. These calls support research and innovation projects focusing on solutions of great value to Danish society, within areas such as climate challenges, green transition, new technological solutions and health. Grants are typically worth between DKK 5 million and DKK 30m each over two to five years. Read more.

  • 3rd March 2020: JPND Research: Novel imaging and brain stimulation methods and technologies related to neurodegenerative diseases. The EU Joint Programme for Neurodegenerative Disease (JPND) invites proposals for novel imaging and brain stimulation methods and technologies related to neurodegenerative diseases. This supports multinational and multidisciplinary collaborative research aiming at the development of novel and advanced use of existing cutting-edge brain imaging and brain stimulation technologies related to neurodegenerative diseases. Projects must be translational and patient-centred. Integrated cost-effectiveness studies are encouraged. The proposals must include one or several of the following neurodegenerative diseases: Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias; Parkinson’s disease and other related disorders; prion diseases; motor neuron diseases; Huntington’s disease; spinocerebellar ataxia;spinal muscular atrophy.  Read more.

  • March 2020: PI JPND – Neurodegenerative Disease Research: JPND has in this call chosen to focus in the area of Precision Medicine, which relates to the targeting of specific elements responsible for pathology in a given individual at a particular point in time. It is an emerging approach for disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment that takes into account individual variability in genes, biological/molecular characteristics together with environmental and lifestyle factors.   • 24th March 2020: NIH: National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Brian initiative – biology and biophysics of neural stimulation and recording technologies. This supports researchers in developing new and improved technologies to record from and control specified cell types and circuits to modulate and understand function in the central nervous system. The aim is to characterise, model and validate the neurobiological, cellular and circuit responses of neuronal and non-neuronal cells in the central nervous system to fields produced by neural stimulation and to understand the biological and bioinformatic content of signals recorded from neuronal and non-neuronal cells and circuits in terms of shape, size, orientation, propagation and location of signal generators at varying temporal and spatial scales. Learn more.
