New PhD student at DANDRITE

Marlene Sørensen has started her PhD studies in Poul Nissen’s group on 1 February, 2015. Marlene Sørensen will be focusing on the RSK kinases, which are hyper-activated in a range of cancers and in neurodegenerative disorders, and the goal is to characterise the binding mode of inhibitors. Furthermore, Marlene Sørensen will be working on the α3 isoform of Na+, K+-ATPase, which is highly expressed in neurons, and mutations in the incoding gene are dominant causative of neurological diseases including Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC).
