Symposium at FIMM: The 2nd Helsinki Chemical Biology Symposium - Chemical Systems Biology

Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) are welcoming all interested researchers to the second Helsinki Chemical Biology Symposium on 10th December 2013! This symposium will be focused on the topic of using chemical biology in systems approaches as this is an emerging field of research. Abstract submission deadline November 28, registration deadline December 3.

Info about event

Time

Tuesday 10 December 2013,  at 09:00 - 17:30

Location

FIMM, Helsinki, Biomedicum Helsinki 1, Lecture hall 2

This symposium will be focused on the topic of using chemical biology in systems approaches as this is an emerging field of research. Examples of chemical systems biology include:

i) using drugs and bioactive compounds to functionally profile cells and biological processes,

ii) using bioinformatic and computational approaches to further extract molecular biological information out of screening data,

iii) the strategic targeting and profiling of functional protein classes such as kinases or epigenetic modulators,

iv) systems approaches to understand mechanisms of action and adverse effects of drugs in patients.

Speakers come from both academia and industry and will highlight different aspects of chemical systems biology. We expect that this symposium will appeal a broad range of researchers, from biomedical, translational and clinical experimental scientists, to bioinformaticians and computational scientists with interest in bio-applications. There will be a poster session in the afternoon and two to four submitted abstracts will be chosen for short talks within the symposium sessions.

Time: Tuesday 10. December 2013, 09:00 - 17:30
Location: Helsinki, Biomedicum Helsinki 1, Lecture hall 2
