The main aim of Rune's PhD project is to experimentally interrogate mouse visual cortex and its ability to transform incoming visual information streams into specialized neuronal messages for higher-order visual cortical areas. The circuit mechanisms of such neuronal computation transformations, achieved by the circuitry of primary visual cortex, are currently poorly understood. This project will expectedly provide mechanistic insight into yet unknown fundamental mechanisms of cortical processing underlying visual information computations
