New postdoc in Magnus Kjaergaar Group

Xavier Warnet has received a postdoctoral fellowship from the Fondation pour la Recherche Medicale en France to study the interactions between the NMDA receptors and CaMKII kinase in order to better understand the molecular basis of memory.

Xavier Warnet started as a postdoc (funded by « Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale », France) in Magnus Kjaergaard group per 27 October 2016.

The main aim is to study the interactions between NMDA receptors and the CaMKII kinase using cryo-electron microscopy. This structure will allow us to decipher how this interaction mediated Long-Term Potentiation, and ultimately understand the molecular basis of memory. Furthermore, he will also use NMR to investigate the disordered intracellular domains of NMDA receptors in the establishment of these interactions and their role in the regulation of NMDA receptors.
