New PhD student at DANDRITE

Alyssa Huebner started her PhD studies in Group Leader Mark Denham's group on 1 August 2014. Alyssa Huebner will be working toward developing pluripotent stem cells as models for studying Parkinson's Disease in vitro. The project aims are to investigate signalling pathways involved in the specification of mesencephalic dopaminergic (mesDA) neurons from human pluripotent stem cells, and to use induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) to study neurodegenerative mechanisms occurring in Parkinson's disease.
