New PhD student at DANDRITE

Mette Ozol started as PhD student in Team Leader Hanne Poulsen's group per 1 February 2016. Mette will be working with establishing and expanding the use of the unnatural fluorescent amino acid Anap in Voltage-clamp fluorometry (VCF) for studying the Na,K-ATPase and other membrane proteins. The structure and function of the Na,K-ATPase are well characterized, but many aspects of the transition between functional states remain unknown and might be revealed using VCF. This might also shed light on the mechanism underlying some disease caused by mutation in the Na,K-ATPase.
