BIOMEDICINE SEMINAR by Lecturer Alun (Yonglun) Luo: “A DREAM Vision: CRISPR Gene Editing & Multi-OMICS Technologies in Biomedical Research and Regenerative Medicine”
Over the past few years, we have at the Danish Regenerative Engineering Alliance for Medicine (DREAM, www.dream.au.dk) focused on developing precision gene editing technologies and multi-OMICS technologies to understand and combat degenerative diseases. We have developed a panel of CRISPR-based genetic manipulation tools: including single/multiplexed gene knockout, gene activation, gene interference, epigenetic modifications, and even for the generation of extra chromosomal circular DNAs. The talk is 45 min in duration followed by 15 minutes of discussion. You do not have to sign up for the seminar, walk-ins are of course welcome. But if you want a free sandwich, you must sign-up for it before 1st April. We hope to see you at Alun’s talk next week!

DANDRITE writing group
We work independently on a shared schedule of ~25min writing/reading (in silence) followed by a 5min talking/moving break. This time-frame is chosen to follow time management & productivity theory ideas, e.g. the Pomodoro Technique. Everybody works on their own personal writing projects (e.g. manuscripts, proposals, coding). After a few of these rounds, we may take a longer break. That's it! Some prefer to bring along headphones, others find the sound of typing/writing motivating.

Probing Neural Dynamics with Behavioural Genetics
One of the ultimate challenges in neuroscience is to link the dynamics of brain activity to behaviour. This meeting seeks to bring together experts on how the brain integrates information about sensory inputs and internal state into behavioural responses.
