New publication - Heterologous expression and purification of an active human TRPV3 ion channel

New publication from Poul Nissen's group published in FEBS Journal. The transient receptor potential vanilloid 3 (TRPV3) cation channel is widely expressed in human tissues and has been shown to be activated by mild temperatures or chemical ligands. We demonstrate that the recombinant purified protein contains high ?-helical content and migrates…

New publication from Anders Nykjær's group - Sortilin-related receptor SORCS3 is a postsynaptic modulator of synaptic depression and fear extinction

New results published in PLoS ONE identifies a novel function for VPS10P domain receptors in control of synaptic depression and suggest SORCS3 as a critical factor modulating aversive memory extinction.

New publication from Anders Nykjær's group - Loss of BDNF or its receptors in three mouse models has unpredictable consequences for anxiety and fear acquisition

New results published in Journal of Learning & Memory illustrate an apparent paradox in the role of the BDNF system in controlling complex behavior, such as anxiety and fear acquisition. The data suggest that BDNF depending on the relative expression of its receptors (p75NTR and TrkB) BDNF may elicit distinct and sometime even opposing behavioral…
