Postdoc position in Glia control of brain states

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled postdoc to work on the role of astrocytes in controlling brain states and state dependent behavior in Drosophila.

The project involves calcium imaging, advanced microscopy, optogenetics and various other transgenic tools to analyze astrocyte activity patterns and their relation to neuromodulation and behavior in ex vivo brain preparations and intact animals.

The successful candidate has a PhD degree in Life Science, international research experience and a strong background in neuroscience, Drosophila genetics and/or and bioimaging. You are expected to work independently and develop new methodology and creative approaches to basic questions in neuroscience.

The position is joint between the laboratory of Maiken Nedergaard (University of Copenhagen, Section for Translational Neuroscience) and Anne von Philipsborn (Aarhus University, Danish Research Institute of Translational Neuroscience).

A competitive salary and access to state-of-the-art research facilities will be provided. 

Starting date and place of work during the course of the project is negotiable.
