Mette Habekost awarded an Integrated PhD fellowship by Aarhus University

Mette Habekost was awarded a fully financed Integrated PhD fellowship by Aarhus University. Her project "The regulatory role of AβPP Intracellular Domain in Alzheimer’s Disease"​ will have Arne Lund Jørgensen as main supervisor and Mark Denham and Per Qvist as co-supervisors. She started the project on the 1st of November 2016.

Two grants awarded to Anders Nykjaer

Anders Nykjaer was granted DKK 750.000 by the Novo Nordisk Foundation for the project entitled “SorCS1 – boosting energy expenditure in obesity”. He also received a grant from the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Association (Scleroseforeningen) for the project entitled: ”Functional characterisation of the multiple sclerosis risk gene SORCS3."

Marco Capogna granted 2 million DKK by AUFF NOVA to study novel neuron types in the mammalian brain

Marco Capogna will receive the grant over a 3 year period for a project dedicated to discover novel cellular mechanisms linking anxiety and emotion with sleep deprivation. The project aims to test the hypothesis that nitric oxide-expressing GABAergic neurons are key cellular element in this process.

Sadegh Nabavi granted 2 million DKK by AUFF NOVA to study fear

Sadegh Nabavi will receive the grant over a 3 year period for a project dedicated to map the brain circuit for an innate fear. The innate fear studied is in rodents for predator.
